Dear Partners and friends in Christ Jesus,
Mabuhay from the Philippines!!
Praise the Lord!!
We had a good, safe, but long flight. Did not sleep much, but God gives us energy!
TSA Worker
On our way thru security check a TSA worker overheard Lileth and I talk about our trip and asked where we were going. Lileth told him. He then leaned over and said I cannot say this openly, but may God be with you and be blessed!
On the plane
On the plane God just enlighted my spirit about our choice to choose life is based on our heart condition.
It is a little long and I will share it on next email update.
Metro Manila Flood Victims
We tried to get an outreach to flood victims in Metro Manila for Sunday, but had to delay it. The areas hardest hit (Marikina and Pasig) still have high muddy water. We are going to try and go to the evacuation centers on Oct 20th.
We are looking at bring bottle water to the flood victims on Tues Oct 20th to a large evacuation center.
They are in need of fresh water due to the flood and the local water is contaminated with disease.
We want to bring bread as well, but do not have enough resource to make that happen. We know God is faithful and will make a way!
The country is really feeling the effects one of the worse natural disaster in Philippine history.
The local and federal governments are over streched. Over 2 million families lost thier homes.
More rain fell in 24 hrs that entire raining season. Also it was more rain than Huricane Katrine fell on USA.
The local dams they had released too much water due to pressure on dam walls, this with the typhoon heavy rain caused the flooding.
We met with some pastors we worked with a few years back and the water had never gotten into thier house before. With this typhoon, it not only reached into the house and was about knee high, on the street it was up to thier neck.
An area up north, iLocus Sur, a place we went to in 2004 has gotten hit hard by typhoon.
Another area up north we went to Iba, Zambales, was so bad coffins were floating all around. The mango trees and rice fields were destroyed by flood.
The typhoon went across northen Luzon (island Manila is on) area three times.
Keep us in you prayers we will be leaving Metro Manila for Eastern Samar Outreach Crusades.
